Highfield and Brookham Pupils Achieve Outstanding 100% Distinction Rate in LAMDA Examinations

5th March 2026

Highfield and Brookham is celebrating a truly remarkable set of performing arts results, following the release of its latest London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) examination outcomes.

In the LAMDA examinations taken in February 2026, Highfield and Brookham pupils achieved a 100% Distinction rate across all entries. This is an extraordinary accomplishment and a first in the school’s history.

Highfield and Brookham is a leading co-educational independent prep school based in Liphook in the South Downs National Park, where Hampshire, Surrey and West Sussex meet. Celebrated in the Tatler Schools Guide, this award-winning, family-owned school is known for its inspiring, future-focused approach to education and skills-based curriculum equipping children for the ever-changing world.

Among the standout individual performances, one pupil achieved the rare accolade of a perfect score of 100% in their Grade 1 Acting examination, an exceptional personal triumph that speaks to the depth of talent and preparation fostered at the school.

These results represent a significant step forward from the school’s already impressive history of LAMDA success and comes only a month after the school celebrated a 100% pass rate in the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) examinations. This confirms the school’s ongoing commitment to the arts.

Central to this achievement is the commitment, creativity and inspiration of the school’s Head of Drama, Sarah Baird and its LAMDA teachers Sarah Dungworth, Hannah Baxter-Eve and Susannah Wilson, whose passion and tireless dedication give pupils the confidence to take creative risks, find their voice and perform at their very best. Their generous investment of time and imagination ensures that pupils are not only expertly prepared for examinations, but also develop a lifelong love of performance.

The school prides itself on its arts provision, with music, drama and art playing a vital role in developing creativity, confidence and focus. These subjects support core academic learning while also promoting wellbeing, inclusion and essential life skills such as teamwork, creativity, communication and self-belief.

Music and drama sit at the heart of school life, with weekly lessons delivered by specialist staff and a rich co-curricular programme including choirs, ensembles, concerts, productions and LAMDA. Drama lessons encourage pupils to express themselves creatively, build resilience and confidence and develop skills that support them far beyond the classroom.

Suzannah Cryer, Head, said: “We are absolutely thrilled with these LAMDA results. A 100% Distinction rate is an outstanding achievement and reflects not only the talent and commitment of our pupils, but also the extraordinary dedication of our Head of Drama and LAMDA teachers. The arts are central to life at Highfield and Brookham, and it is a joy to see our pupils flourish with such creativity and pride.”
