Head of Learning Support

We are seeking a Head of Learning Support with a passion to make a difference to children’s lives and drive change for the benefit of our pupils. Nursery Assistant

Our nursery is a special place.  Our team of dedicated staff are caring and nurturing, with a clear understanding of child development and how to support every child as an individual on their educational journey.  We embrace outdoor learning and children can be found outside, no matter what the weather.  We constantly reflect on our practice and we keep up to date with the latest research relating to Early Years Education.

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, flexible and committed individual to join our team and support us in our mission to provide our Nursery children with the very best start to their educational journey. You will assist the teacher with the day-to-day running of provision; ensuring the children’s happiness, general welfare and safety are maintained to the highest standard. You will assist with the planning, preparation and delivery of activities devised to meet children’s developmental needs and observe children and record these observations using the school’s tracking documents and systems.

After School Care Assistant

We have an exciting opportunity for an After School Care Assistant to join our team from September. Highfield and Brookham have a popular and busy After School provision, providing high standards of care and play opportunities for the children in a safe and secure environment.

You will be passionate about all aspects of childcare and education and be able to bring new ideas to the role.  You will need to have a caring and dynamic approach, as well as an ability to work closely with others in providing an exceptional level of care.

Recent experience of working with children aged 2-8 years and NVQ Level 3 in Child Care / Playwork or equivalent are of benefit but not essential, as is a good knowledge and understanding of equal opportunities and special educational needs.

You will also need to have excellent communication skills and good organisational skills.

Working hours will be from 3.00pm to 6.00pm Monday to Friday, term time only (approximately 35 weeks).

Maintenance Technician

We are looking for a full-time Maintenance Technician to join our busy team who carry out planned and reactive day-to-day maintenance works within the school and its grounds. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic person who has excellent DIY skills, including painting and decorating; and basic plumbing.

You will need to be able to:-

  • Work independently or as part of a team.
  • Demonstrate good organisational skills, keep accurate computer records and stay up to date with routine maintenance tasks and checks.
  • Communicate well and interact politely with staff, pupils, suppliers and visitors.
  • Supervise contractors on site where necessary.

Due to the nature of this role a full UK driving licence is required.

We offer inhouse training for swimming pool maintenance, biomass system and MEWPS.

Salary range £22,500 – £27,500 dependent on skills and experience. Benefits include company pension scheme, life insurance, sick pay, free parking and delicious lunches during term-time, 23 days annual leave plus bank holidays, with an additional two days after working at the school for over three years.

Part time 1:1 Learning Support Assistant 

We are looking for a Part-Time Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil from 8.30am – 12.30pm Monday to Friday during term-time.

The ideal candidate will be professional, conscientious and have a caring disposition. They will be adaptable and flexible and have the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Experience of working with pupils with special educational needs is desirable, but not essential.

You will be supported by a strong team and will be provided with morning refreshments and lunch during term-time.

Swim Teacher

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated and friendly swim teacher to join our popular and highly regarded Swim School, offering swimming lessons to children aged 4yrs and above in our warm 20m pool.

Candidates must be qualified to either Swim England SEQ Level 2 or STA Level 2 Certificate and have experience of teaching all abilities, from beginners to advanced swimmers. Candidates must be prepared to teach in the water as well as out of the water.

The hours available are as follows, however if you can only do some of these hours, we would still like to hear from you.

Friday 3:45pm – 7pm

Saturday 8:00am – 12:45pm

Lead Graduate Assistant

We are looking for two Lead Graduate Assistants to help support the Head of Girls’ Boarding and Head of Boys’ Boarding in ensuring that our boarding provision is of the highest possible standard. This will be achieved through supporting the operational management of the boarding house, undertaking such responsibilities as necessary to care for the health and wellbeing of all our boarders.

Working as part of the Residential Team, the successful applicants will be engaged in the classroom, on the games field and in the Boarding Houses.
