Highfield and Brookham girls recognised after remarkable national athletics achievement

Highfield and Brookham School is celebrating the achievements of Year 8 pupils Olivia T and Phoebe G after they were recognised at the IAPS National Prep Athletics Championships, held at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham on Wednesday 1st July 2026. Olivia won the silver medal in the U14 High Jump, while she and Phoebe were presented with a special award after becoming three-time IAPS Prep National Athletics finalists, a remarkable achievement that reflects their consistency and success at the highest level of prep school athletics.

The championships brought together some of the country’s strongest young athletes, with seven Highfield and Brookham pupils representing the school after progressing through regional qualifying competitions. The all-girls squad, made up of pupils from Year 7 and Year 8, reflects a sporting culture at Highfield and Brookham where girls are encouraged to pursue every opportunity available to them and compete with confidence on the national stage.

Both girls have represented Highfield and Brookham with great determination and sportsmanship throughout their athletics journey.
