Holiday Activity Courses

We run a selection of holiday clubs and courses for children aged from 4 to 13 years to keep children entertained over the school holidays. Our courses don’t just provide holiday childcare, they offer an educational experience and the chance for children to learn something new. Children from all over the local community including Haslemere, Petersfield and Midhurst are welcome to attend our holiday clubs as well as Highfield and Brookham pupils.

Holiday Courses

We offer a wide variety of clubs and courses each holiday where children can have fun learning a new skill or playing sport, or make a tangible memento to take home. For children keen to learn or develop their sports skills, we offer tennis, swimming and multi-sports clubs and for those children with a more creative streak, we offer fantastic courses such as cookery, photography and science. And for those who like a bit of everything, our multi-activities course offers a great variety of things to keep the children busy and entertained.

Coaching and Facilities

All of our coaches and course tutors have vast experience and are fully qualified in their respective fields. They are passionate about passing on their expertise, which leads to hugely beneficial, valuable and engaging courses.

The extensive facilities we have available at Highfield and Brookham enable us to offer a great variety of holiday clubs and courses to suit all children. Our courses vary in length from one day to a full week offering great flexibility for working parents looking for holiday childcare.

This fun-filled course run by our fantastic in-house team is packed full of a variety of activities to keep children entertained.

It is ideal if your child likes to do a bit of everything. Each day our fantastic team will engage children with a mix of high energy and low impact activities. We have everything including: exploring the great outdoors with scavenger hunts and den building in our beautiful woodland and grounds, unleashing creativity with a variety of arts and crafts projects and burning off some energy with a mix of team games, sports and swimming and much more…there’s something to suit everyone.

Multi-Sports

We are delighted to welcome the fantastic team from Assure Coaching to lead an exciting multi-sports course filled with a variety of sports and activities for children of all ages. This course offers a great opportunity for children to experience an energetic, fun-filled holiday. Led by two hugely passionate and experienced footballers, alongside a team of equally dedicated coaches who are experts in a wide range of sports, this course is perfect for children who love sport.

Each day, the team will engage children by teaching them essential skills and techniques across different sports. Their carefully designed fun, and focused programme of drills and exercises is perfect for all levels—whether children are beginners learning the basics or the more experienced looking to refine their skills. Children will be split into appropriate age groups.

With access to our fantastic facilities, children will enjoy a variety of sports including cricket, netball, football, athletics and basketball, to name a few, along with fun games such as foot golf and dodgeball. The coaches are committed to sharing their passion for sport, ensuring that every child, whether they’re already a sports enthusiast or just starting their journey, will have the chance to improve their abilities, learn new techniques, and build confidence across a range of sports.

Dance

We are delighted to be offering a brand new dance course this Easter and will be welcoming Jessica Brooks and Imogen Cavell-Wells – two experienced and passionate dance teachers, to bring the joy of dance to children. Jessica and Imogen have been dancing for most of their lives and have been fortunate to have trained and worked with industry professionals. They are both passionate about the wide variety of dance styles from around the world and take great joy in sharing this energy and experience with children of all ages.

The course is open to children of all abilities, so whether you’re a beginner or have some experience, it’s the perfect opportunity to learn exciting new moves and routines and make new friends whilst having a blast. Jessica and Imogen will guide children through various dance styles including; modern, hip-hop, street and jazz, to name a few.

Dance isn’t just about learning routines though, it’s also a fantastic way to stay fit and boost your health. It helps improve strength, flexibility, balance and coordination and it’s great for the mind too, building confidence, focus and creativity, all whilst boosting your mood.

Over the course of the 2 days, children will work towards learning a dance routine and at the end of the last day, all their hard work will come together in a fantastic group performance for parents to enjoy. It’s a great opportunity to show off all the amazing skills they’ve learnt and leave with a huge sense of achievement.

Come and join us for a tech adventure! Tech Camp is all about making learning fun. It’s the perfect place for children to explore, create, and try something new while gaining valuable skills.

This Easter, we have brand-new invention workshops to take children on an exciting journey of creativity and innovation. They’ll get stuck into building their very own STEM creations, including; designing Bubble Blasters, creating Levitating Balls, constructing Bright Lamps, or even building a Hydraulic Digger. And the best bit is that they can take these amazing inventions home to show friends and family.

As well as making these fantastic projects, children will explore and learn about;

Coding & Robotics – Learn to program and control real-life robots
Minecraft & LEGO Engineering – Build, design, and problem-solve with LEGO and Minecraft
Virtual Reality & Pro DJing – Unleash creativity using cutting-edge virtual reality and DJ mixing tech

So whether your child is a budding tech genius or just starting to discover STEM, we’ve got all bases covered.

Tennis

Private Lessons | 6yrs+ | 31st March and 1st April | £42

Graham will be offering private tennis lessons at Easter. These are are a great way for children to progress with their tennis. The lessons are a great opportunity for Graham to work with children on the areas that they wish to specficially improve. It’s also a great opportunity for children who don’t yet play to try it and hopefully start on their tennis journey.

Lessons are 45mins long and are available each day at the following times: 9:30am, 10:15am, 11:00am,11:45am and 12:30pm.

Lessons can be either a 1:1 or 1:2. In 1:2 lessons, both children must be of very similar ability.

Our holiday tennis course offers an enjoyable and engaging program tailored to children aged 6-8yrs who want to learn or improve their tennis skills. Our Head Coach, Graham Holmes, combines professional coaching, interactive drills and games to ensure the children learn whilst having lots of fun.

During the course, children will work on; skills development, focussing on fundamental tennis techniques, fitness and movement, focussing on co-ordination, speed and agility and games and activities including mini-tournament, team challenges and skill-based competitions that introduce friendly competition and sportsmanship.

By the end of the course, as well as building on their skills and technique, children will also have improved their physical well-being, built on their social development and increased their love for the sport.

Karate

Matt Powell and his team from Petersfield Karate return to deliver a fantastic Karate course this Easter.

Sensei Matt brings 24 years of experience to teaching Karate and is deeply passionate about the positive impact it has on children’s lives. Karate is a truly holistic discipline, offering a wide range of benefits that go beyond physical fitness. It helps develop flexibility, boosts confidence, enhances self-esteem, and fosters focus and self-discipline, shaping not only stronger bodies but stronger minds as well.

Children of all abilities are welcome on the course and Sensei Matt and his team will work with everyone individually at a pace that is right for them. During the course children who have little or no previous experience will enjoy a fun, challenging and engaging introduction to Karate and will hopefully be inspired to continue their journey. Children with more experience will be able to develop their existing skills and technique and work towards unlocking their maximum potential.

Nature Crafting

We are thrilled to welcome Hannah from Corylus Collective, who will be leading an exciting new course this Easter. A true nature enthusiast, Hannah brings a delightful range of nature-inspired crafting projects using natural materials, offering children a wonderful opportunity to explore their artistic side.

Children will, weather permitting, have the added enjoyment of creating their nature-inspired pieces in the great outdoors, surrounded by nature for a fully immersive experience. There’s a wide choice of exciting crafts to enjoy, including botanical dyeing, leaf waxing, Easter wreaths, felted acorns, and willow bird feeders.

The course will inspire children and offer them plenty of opportunity to express themselves creatively, and by the end of the course they will leave with the added pleasure of having created their own beautiful hand made creations.

Nature Days

We are delighted to welcome Hannah from Corylus Collective, to deliver a brilliant new woodland course open to children from a younger age. Hannah delights in introducing children to the joy of being surrounded by nature and experiencing all the great activities that the outdoors has to offer.

Children will spend their day fully immersed in our beautiful woodland, where they’ll be inspired to unleash their imaginations while building dens, discover the benefits of teamwork through fun games, burn off some energy with woodland walks and treasure hunts, and exploring and learning new skills while making delicious campfire treats. They’ll also have the chance to enjoy a slower pace with woodland crafting and stories, all in the beauty of the great outdoors.

Cookery

Join us for another delicious adventure with Sophie in which children will make wonderful dishes using Sophie’s mouthwatering recipes. Sophie not only teaches essential cooking skills that will last a lifetime, but through a variety of recipes and cuisines, she also cultivates an appreciation for different cultures and expands children’s minds and palates

From sweet treats to savoury dishes, on this course children will learn how to make delicious dishes from around the world including; Greece, China, Italy and Mexico. Sophie will take them on a culinary journey that combines delicious flavours with fun, hands-on cooking.

The recipes are designed to be suitable for children of all ages, offering a delightful mix of quick and easy treats that can be made in a flash, as well as more involved recipes that allow children to learn new skills and techniques.

Children will be making their own lunches and snacks, but your child can also bring a packed lunch with them if they wish. Please ensure this is nut free.

Bushcraft

Wrap up warm and come and enjoy some adventures in the woods. We are delighted to be welcoming back the team from Adventure Lifesigns to bring the joy of being outdoors to children with 2 daysof bushcraft fun.

Using our beautiful and diverse woodland, children will enjoy all of the exciting hands-on bushcraft activities including; shelter building, crafting with natural materials, learning essential first aid skills and mastering the art of fire-making. They will, as always, also have time to run free, be themselves and enjoy child led learning.

The course will encourage children to embrace everything that nature has to offer. It is a fantastic experience that will awaken the spirit of adventure, build resilience, develop teamwork skills and help children gain an appreciation for the environment around them.

Golf

7-13yrs | 8th – 9th April | 9:30am – 12:30pm | £100

The fantastic team from Liphook Golf Club return to deliver another fun and engaging golf course.

The course is aimed at children from beginner to intermediate level and the team will tailor the activities to each child’s individual ability and learning style. Beginners will start with the basic fundamentals such as proper grip, stance and posture and breaking down the swing into simple movements focussing on building a foundation. Those with a bit more experience will work on developing their existing skills including their full swing mechanics of rotation, weight transfer and balance and by experimenting with different shots and approaches to establish their own style. Children can bring their own clubs if they have them.

The team will deliver a positive, supportive and fun course which ensures children will have a wonderful time as they embark and progress on their golfing journey.

Performing Arts

9-13yrs | 14th – 15th April | 9:00am – 4:00pm | £120

This Easter, we’re inviting budding young performers to step into the spotlight.

Under the guidance of former West End performer, Susannah Wilson, children will immerse themselves in some of the wonderful songs and scenes from two iconic musicals: Mufasa and The Greatest Showman. As well as learning and rehearsing excerpts from the musicals, each day will include vocal and physical warm-ups, fun drama games, choreography and costume planning. And on the final day, all their hard work will culminate in a short showcase to parents.

Not only will this course offer a wonderfully energetic and engaging experience, taking part in performing arts also helps develop essential life skills such as confidence, teamwork, creative expression, individuality and communication.

It doesn’t matter if children have no experience, or lots of it, everyone is welcome. If they love acting, singing and/or dancing in a fun and non-pressured environment, this course will be a wonderful introduction to the world of performing arts.

Please note: the showcase to parents will take place at 3:15pm on the final day.

Gymnastics

Our gymnastics course run by the fantastically talented Denise Ogilvie offers children of all levels to learn and improve their gymnastics skills.

Gymnastics is a great way for children to build and improve the key components of fitness; core stability, flexibility, strength and balance. Using a variety of apparatus, Denise will engage, excite and work with each child at a level that is suitable for them. The course aims to encourage an interest in gymnastics for those who’ve never tried it before and improve the skills and techniques for those who already have some experience. Whatever your child’s ability, they will find the course rewarding and enjoyable and hopefully encourage children to pursue the sport further.

Needle Felting Crafts

7-13yrs | 15th April | 9:00am – 4:00pm | £65

Hannah and Jo from FeltyBee return to immerse children in the wonderful world of needle felting.

On this hands-on course, Hannah and Jo will guide the children in the art of needle felting, a technique where wool fibres are sculpted using special tools to create vibrant, textured masterpieces. Children will be making one main piece and a few smaller pieces using other crafting techniques. Using bright, colourful wools and their imaginations, children will design and create their main piece which will be a beautiful and unique Easter egg mobile to celebrate the season.

As well as having fun creating their mobiles, they’ll also develop essential skills such as; patience, focus and fine motor skills. By the end of the course, they’ll have a delightful mobile to showcase their creative talents and brighten up their room or give as a gift to a friend or family.

Touch Typing

8-16yrs | 14th – 17th April | 9:30am – 11:00am | £100

Touch typing isn’t just for adults, learning it as a child not only helps them succeed at school, it provides an essential skill for their entire life. And with computers being an essential and part of everyday life, having the ability to touch type is more relevant than ever.

This course will be run by our in house touch typing expert Heidi Stedman. Heidi has spent many years helping children reap the benefits and rewards of being able to touch type and she will ensure that the children learn and progress, while having plenty of fun.

The course will use the TTRS (Touch Type, Read and Spell) curriculum which suits all children, but is especially beneficial for those with dyslexia. Every child on the course will have access to the TTRS app for one month after the course, so they can practise.

The classes will be kept small – no more than 8 children, meaning children will have plenty of individual support and attention to help them to fully embrace their new skill.

Private Swimming Lessons

4yrs+ | 14th – 16th April | £42 per lesson

Private swim lessons are a great way for children to progress with their swimming. It could be that your child is struggling to master a particular stroke, or perhaps they are very nervous in the water and the focussed, individual attention is just what they need to build confidence, or perhaps they aren’t suited to group lessons and this gives them the opportunity to progress their swimming in an environment they feel more comfortable in. Whatever the reason, our private swim lessons will help all children to progress.

Sharon will be offering lessons this half term. The dates and times of the lessons, are shown in the table below. All lessons are 30mins long. Lessons can be either a 1:1 or 1:2. For 1:2 lessons, both children must be of very similar ability.

Our fantastic Nursery team will ensure children have a wonderful time enjoying a whole variety of games and activities, cookery and arts and crafts every day. They will also make great use of our fantastic woodland with woodland walks and activities.

Performing Arts Masterclass – OLD BUT KEEP

9-14yrs | 18th Feburary| 9:00am – 4:00pm | £60

In this exciting course, children will embark on a journey of creativity and expression. Led by the wonderful Susannah Wilson, this immersive experience will ignite imaginations and is perfect for all aspiring performers.

Throughout the course, children will explore various aspects of performing arts, from acting techniques to choreography and musicality. They’ll develop confidence, teamwork skills and a deeper appreciation for the arts in a supportive, fun and relaxed environment. It doesn’t matter if your child has no experience, or has lots of it, everyone is welcome! All we ask is that they come brimming full of enthusiasm.

At the end of the course, parents are invited to come and watch a short performance by the children which gives them the opportunity to showcase their newfound talents.

Spectacular Science – OLD BUT KEEP

6-10yrs | 12th – 14th August | 9:00am – 4:00pm | £210

We are delighted to welcome the amazing team from Genie Lab to ignite young minds with a love of science.

This course offers children a truly immersive experience with lots of exciting hands-on learning. From captivating experiments to mind-boggling demonstrations, children will delve into the wonders of biology, chemistry, physics and beyond. The team will guide children through engaging activities, encouraging curiosity and critical thinking every step of the way.

Each day brings a thrilling new theme;

Forensics Day – children will become junior detectives and uncover mysteries through fingerprint analysis, DNA extraction and crime scene investigation.

Space Day – launches children into the cosmos where they will learn how to survive in a harsh environment, sampling and making fruit based space food, exploring special NASA materials and of course sending rockets flying.

Light Fantastic Day – children will explore the wondrous spectrum of light including UV, infrared and lasers including building periscopes and spectroscopes and designing their own Newton Wheel.

With each theme carefully crafted to inspire curiosity and ignite passion, this course offers a dynamic and enriching experience that sparks a lifelong love for science.
