Highfield and Brookham is an independent, co-educational Nursery, Pre-Prep and Prep School in Liphook for boys and girls aged 2-13, nestled on the leafy borders of Hampshire, West Sussex and Surrey. We welcome families from across Hampshire, West Sussex and Surrey, as well as further afield nationally and internationally.
As a family-owned school, we celebrate our genuine independence and prepare children for the leading boarding and top day schools in the country. Not being answerable to a senior school or trust results in a strong sense of togetherness and a welcoming family feel. We work together with our children and their families to ensure the children receive the very best education possible to shape well-rounded, confident children ready to take the leap to senior school in their stride. We regularly feed 30 senior schools which means a unique educational journey for your child. Our Head, Suzannah Cryer has strong contacts with all of the senior schools will play a crucial part in finding the right future school for your child. We have a flawless record of securing entrance to a child’s chosen senior school, whether that be at at 11+ or 13+. Our curriculum gives opportunities for all children to flourish and our scholarship success is evidence of our outstanding academic ambition. Our children have been awarded over 100 scholarships over the past six years to a diverse range of top senior schools, including Wellington College, Cranleigh School, Radley College, Marlborough College and Charterhouse and include a huge variety of scholarships ranging from academic and art to sports and music.

Situated in 175 acres of glorious natural grounds in the South Downs National Park, our school enjoys a truly exceptional setting. Admissions process
Our key entry points are Nursery, Reception, Year 3 and Year 7, but we also warmly welcome children into other year groups where spaces are available. Charlotte Cottrell, our Admissions Registrar, will expertly guide you through the admissions process, whether you’re joining at one of our main entry stages or another point in your child’s educational journey. As the proud parent of two Old Highfieldians, Charlotte combines her wealth of experience with first-hand knowledge of the school, making her the perfect person to answer your questions, arrange your visits and organise your child’s taster days.

Love and friendship was the order of the day as our boys and girls got down to some seriously creative crafting today. More than 900 children from 15 schools across Hampshire, Surrey and West Sussex have given their all over our testing cross-country course today. Children aged from eight to 13 showed real determination and strained every sinew, not only battling each other but also a tricky course, slippery ground and a biting wind. There were some tears, knocks and scrapes along the way, but the way in which the runners supported not only their teammates but children from rival schools was truly heartwarming on a cold day. And the look of joy and relief on the faces of the children as they crossed the finish, cheered on by their peers, was a sight to behold. Very well done, boys and girls! We’ve been treated to another musical masterclass from our blossoming children in Year 1 to Year 3, who charmed their watching parents at this morning’s Spring Concert. As the physical, mental and emotional health and wellbeing of our children is at the heart of everything we do, we marked Safer Internet Day by helping ensure they are protected from cyber threats too. An insightful prep school assembly raised awareness of the importance of creating a safe and positive online environment for everyone, especially children and young people, by highlighting potential online risks such as cyberbullying, harmful content, and privacy concerns. Ahead of their performance of Pride Rocks next month, our Year 5 and Year 6 children have been treated to a drama masterclass from a West End star. Gloria Onitiri was just 17 when she played Nala in The Lion King on stage at the Lyceum Theatre and today she brought a wealth of stage experience to our school theatre. Gloria focused on physicality and movement on stage, working with different groups of ‘animals’ who feature in The Lion King, with the children honing the one-to-ten movement technique which starts with the body stock still on the count of one before evolving and becoming more animated as the count moves higher. We launched the Beehive just over a year ago, a friendly and positive space which is home to some of our popular wellbeing activities, including visits from wellness experts for our children and staff body. The shared area in pre-prep was a hive of activity today – and it all added up to a truly memorable lesson for Year 1.
